About
From September 7-12 Propspeed attended the 2021 Cannes Yachting Festival, located in the beautiful Vieux Port and Port Canto in Cannes, France. This year, the show boasted 575 exhibitors and 54,400 visitors, matching the show’s record number of visitors seen in 2019.
Propspeed’s Matt Forbes – Sales Director EMEA, and the team had a busy six days ahead of them, meeting Propspeed customers, reconnecting with the industry, and finally introducing our new brand, in-person, to the French marine industry.
Matt Forbes and Albert Olocan“Cannes Yachting Festival is a very important event for us at Propspeed. It is a truly international show that attracts a lot of people due to the beautiful location, giving us the perfect opportunity to catch up with old friends and build new relationships. This year’s show was very successful and we will be delivering many new projects as a direct result of the meetings we have had in Cannes,” said Matt Forbes.
As a New Zealand company, we decided to bring a bit of our Kiwi side to France this year, partnering with NZTE to create some classic New Zealand merch! We were also incredibly proud and excited to be visited by Ambassador Jane Coombs, New Zealand’s ambassador to France, along with NZTE’s Commercial Mission Leader Ariane Gonzalez. Coombs shared on her social media, “With Ariane, so very pleased to support New Zealand marine technology and innovation through Manta 5 and Propspeed at Cannes Yachting Festival.” The New Zealand Embassy of France also shared on their Facebook page, “Our Ambassador Jane Coombs and New Zealand Trade & Enterprise Commercial Mission Leader Ariane Gonzalez came out to support Manta5 and Propspeed at the Cannes Yachting Festival. If you’re on the C tete d’ Azur, come discover the innovation and cutting-edge technologies that these two companies embody!”
Matt Forbes and Ambassador Jane Coombs, New Zealand's ambassador to FrancePropspeed was also proud to be a part of the Green Route this year. To help support the marine industry in becoming more eco-friendly, Cannes Yachting Festival created the Green Route, which showcased more than 50 exhibitors “developing or presenting a concept in favour of ecology.”
All-in-all, we had a busy and exciting six days at the Cannes Yachting Festival, with a fantastic turnout and finally being able to reconnect with the French marine industry. We hope to see you all for Cannes 2022!
