A strong team effort by Oceanmax has yielded a promising result, with the company being shortlisted among four finalists in the Air New Zealand Cargo ExportNZ Awards, Best Medium Business (goods exporter) category, on 16 May. Marketing manager Nona Pedersen and managing director Clint Jones were at the Air New Zealand Customer Innovation and Collaboration Centre to accept the certificate on behalf of the Oceanmax team.

The challenging application process involved compiling in-depth information on what makes Oceanmax tick well as meetings with the judges, including an on-site visit.

Oceanmax’s involvement in the ExportNZ Awards will elevate the company’s profile locally and internationally to attract new business and possibly new talent. The national recognition is also a huge boost to team morale and a testament to the snowballing success of Propspeed, Oceanmax’s flagship coating for propellers and running gear. In just four years, Oceanmax’s staff has more than quadrupled. Among these additions is recently installed West Coast technical sales rep Rusty Morgan, bringing the sales team headcount to six.

Seal Team 6, as they are affectionately known, “is creating positive havoc in the marketplace,” says Clint. “The overwhelming picture in the California market is a lift in brand awareness since my last visit through 18 months ago. Our social media is starting to help reinforce the other things we are already doing, another major step to world domination.”

Manufacturers Oceanmax is up against in the goods exporter category are Hunter Filling Systems, Mix Limited and Ross Roof Group. The winner will be announced at a gala dinner held on the evening of Thursday 28 June at the ANZ Viaduct Events Centre.
